Siarscéal is an annual community-based literary festival based in Roscommon County Library, and run in collaboration with the county library services of Sligo and Leitrim. The primary focus of the festival is to encourage greater creativity by those in the 13-18 yrs age bracket, and involves workshops in creative writing, animation, book-making and other crafts, run between May and September across Roscommon, Sligo and Leitrim. The festival culminates in the Hanna Greally New Writers Awards Day, recognizing the achievements of the participants.
