Silver Lining virtual sessions
The Silver Lining virtual sessions are 44 weekly musical appreciation sessions delivered via zoom throughout 2023 to older people, including people living with dementia and in particular the members of the Forget-me-not choir - an inclusive choir that unites older people and those affected by dementia with caregiver family and friends. The sessions were initially started during the Covid pandemic and became a huge hit with Forget-me-Not dementia-inclusive choir members and their families. Last year, the ‘Silver Lining’ Friday zoom calls provided a social and cultural lifeline for choir members with as many as 100 seniors and carers attending. The sessions will continue in 2023, giving older people the chance to connect trough singing a song, reciting a poem, recalling a memory, telling a story or just listening and enjoying the session.
