SING2CARE programme is envisioned as a MUSIC BASED CAREGIVING INITIATIVE for care home residents and their care staff, that will use singing and creativity as a vehicle to improve/maintain the health and wellbeing for our ageing populace living in a health care setting within the Carlow community. It offers an accessible, stimulating and enriching musical experience that recognises and engages the participants not merely as onlookers, but as “musical beings” taking part as singers, players, a multi-sensory way of being with music with permission and a “freedom to fly” in their creative expression.
The musical activities will be designed to enhance wellbeing by fostering bodily awareness and mobility, social connection, playfulness, and enjoyment, reducing stress levels and developing a more connected sense of self.
