Wicklow County Council has partnered with Music Network to create a new programme and extend it's reach to older persons who wish to undertake music lessons for the first time or who wish to re-engage with a musical instrument they once learned. Sonamus a unique professional music ensemble from County Wicklow are being supported by Music Network to deliver this tuition currently to 16 persons over 55 from County Wicklow. This funding will ensure the project continues and is rolled out to additional participants from September 2021. 

The project offers musical instrument availability if the participants no longer have an instrument. Lessons have been on Zoom and now the group will meet in two parts for an ensemble get together. The project pilot has been hugely successful and all of the project partners welcome this additional Creative Ireland investment to extend the programme from the pilot.
