Westmeath Library Service are holding a collaborative initiative with Music Generation Westmeath to deliver a series of participatory music events across library branches in County Westmeath during the summer months. 

This programme brings professional musicians and music educators into local library spaces to facilitate inclusive workshops, interactive performances, and hands-on music-making sessions using instruments provided by Music Generation Westmeath. The project aligns strongly with the aims of the Creative Ireland Programme by enabling people of all ages to participate directly in creative activity, fostering wellbeing, creativity and community connection. 

By activating library spaces as cultural venues, the project supports the development of libraries as welcoming hubs for creative expression within local communities. A central element of the initiative is its intergenerational approach, creating opportunities for children, young people, adults and older members of the community to come together through shared musical experiences.
