Soundscapes & Seascapes, Fuaimdhreacha agus Muirdhreacha

Soundscapes & Seascapes is an interactive, sensory experience (cois farraige) by the sea in West Clare.
It is a space to connect to the soundscapes, (fuaimdhreacha) and seascapes (muirdhreacha) of a very special wild and largely secluded landscape in West Clare.

This three hour workshop will be an immersive, sensory experience into the sounds and elements of the rich coastal landscape of West Clare. Immerse yourself into the sounds of the sea, for this very special bilingual exploration, tailored for absolute beginners and intermediate Irish speakers.

Dive into the soundscapes and landscapes of Cleadagh Bay in Spanish Point, in County Clare. Our journey will be one of listening and interacting with the elements of the landscape itself, the seaweed, stones and waters. An experiential journey into how these elements as well as our own bodies can act as instruments.

Each participant will be invited to explore the landscape. Sionnáin (Michelle Shannon) a local musician will share a couple of simple bilingual songs that are easy to join in on the day. (This is completely optional and all are very welcome to come and listen and experience the day without singing)

This will be a memorable day which will deepen your sense of place and connection to the rich seascape here in the West of Éire. You will leave with a cúpla focail and maybe even a song or two! We will enjoy a cuppa tea and some light snacks at the end, so bring along your picnic if you wish.

24th - 26th May, 2pm - 5pm
