We plan a series of masterclasses on the theory of playing the concert flute and whistle, at which a piece of music will be thought and a discussion on the composition on the music and the method of composing tunes.
The regional styles will be discussed and demonstrated, the ornamentation of the music, the methods of preparing music for performance, with particular emphasis on the Sligo style,  learning the different settings on the sound system the preparation of recording music also a visit to the archives and a discussion on the playing of how flute music has evolved over the generations.
A lecture on the various memorials to traditional musicians in Co. Sligo and an outing to visit some of them. 
We hope the participants will be much more confident in the presentation of their music, in the understanding of the Sligo style of music, the ornamentation and will be able to discuss the various styles of music associated with the different region in the country.
Each participant will be given the opportunity to perform their music at a concert and an opportunity to do a demo recording on their particular piece of music that has been studied over the 3 days.
