Still Voices Film Festival

The Still Voices Film Festival is a community-focused, international film festival with multiple events taking place from November 15h to 19th across Westmeath and Longford. We strive to expose an under-represented region to great film and to increase engagement between filmmakers and film lovers alike. The aim is that the Midlands region will become a cultural centre for film promotion and production.

Still Voices has built a wide audience from both Ireland and abroad with filmmakers and film lovers travelling to the Midlands every year to experience the work of some of the world's finest up-and-coming filmmakers.  This year will be the sixth year as a weekend festival, and we are planning to grow our reputation by securing Irish premieres of feature films directed by Local Artists.

The Festival is beginning on Wednesday, November 15th with our student short films screening in TUS, Athlone during the day. This will give more exposure for the filmmakers and allow the students within the college to access work from their peers.

On November 16th from 7 – 9pm The Luan Gallery Athlone will host our experimental short films. This is the first time we are collaborating with the gallery, and we are thrilled with the support from the arts office in securing the location for us.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
