‘Stitching the Community Together’ is an art-based, intergenerational programme centred around the medium of wool and knitting that is supported through the Creativity in Older Age Scheme. At the heart of it, the programme is focused on three key elements:
- Bringing together local nursing homes and schools in Kildare to co-create intergenerational knitted projects
- The creation of a virtual reality (VR) piece which will explore the ‘Farm-to-Fleece’ process of creating wool
- An exhibition event that will showcase the intergenerational knitted pieces and virtual reality piece to take place in Spring 2023
Details of exhibition will be published once confirmed.
Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
