2023 marks the 40th anniversary of the opening of Loafers Bar, a key community space for the LGBT community in Cork from 1983-2015. To mark this anniversary, Cork LGBT Archive will engage a documentary filmmaker to record stories about Loafers Bar during summer 2023 and document its significance for the local LGBT community.  These recordings will feed into a documentary marking the 40th anniversary of the opening of Loafers, one of the longest running gay bars in Ireland. The recorded interviews will be added to the Cork LGBT Archive and the Loafers documentary will be publicly screened in October/November 2023.
