This initiative is to organise one year of monthly storytelling evenings in An Tearmann Café, Kilcullen. Triple Spiral Storytellers, an informal traditional oral storytelling group, have been hosting these events regularly for over a year and wish to continue into 2019. Their monthly storytelling evenings have been attended by a very wide range of people, aged 8-80 years, from the local community and local groups.

The group is hosted by Tim Ditchburn, a volunteer with The Bridge Camphill Community - an organisation that provides residential and day services for people with special needs/intellectual disabilities. Many residents, volunteers, and employees of The Bridge attend these monthly events in addition to members of the general public.

The primary aim of the group, in addition to providing a social outlet for many, is to promote the traditional art of storytelling. Funding will be used to invite professional storytellers to these events.

In addition to the regular monthly events, the group wishes to organise a series of short workshops in Kilcullen, targeted at different audiences, to introduce and enhance storytelling skills while also emphasising traditional and personal stories. These workshops will provide an opportunity to have fun whilst exploring different themes in a safe environment, building skills and releasing creativity.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
