Streamstown Railway Station - Our recollections and ramblings relived

Ciara Maxwell is undertaking a community art project in her home village of Streamstown where she will research the history of the Old train station in Streamstown which ran for around 100 years. This project will celebrate the history of the train station but also the exciting new developments at the Old Rail Trail.

The public have been asked to submit their own stories, memories and memorabilia which they have from Streamstown station or the surrounding area.

The project also entails two workshops which will be held on the 12th and 26th of May, in Horseleap & Streamstown Community Centre. These workshops aim to work with the community to recall the history at the old station. The participants will learn crafting and hand embroidery processes, and use these skills to create a unique artwork that celebrates the history of the old station.

The two dates for the workshops are: 12th and 26th of May 2022

You can book a place by contacting Ciara directly on 087 3828472, or email ciaramaxwellartist@gmail.com
