under Open Call Strand 1: Community/Creative Collaboration Students of the Edmund Rice Autism Centre in CBS Roscommon will work with a local artist Flin Keane on a stop motion animation on superheroes. They will design the set, design the characters, make the characters, learn how to take pictures with stop motion and above all work together in a collaborate way. There are so many elements here, literacy in creating the story, creativity in creating the sets and characters, using fine and gross motor skill in set design and working together in collaboration. Many of these projects bring incidental learning, for example, turn taking, social stories on how to work together to achieve a common goal. Some students are non verbal so it includes all students at their level, being guided by the experienced artist.
