Táin March Festival 2020 – is a multi-faceted cultural project which combined history, literature, poetry, archaeology and community. It is a celebration of the great literary epic tale, the Táin Bó Cúailnge, which starts in Roscommon town on Thursday 14th of May continues in Rathcroghan on Friday 15th of May and crosses Sliabh Bawn on Saturday 16th  of May ending with a feast fit for the great Queen Medb before continuing on to Longford on Sunday 17th of May.

The festival includes workshops for 16 primary schools, an Oenach celebration gathering / ceremonial event at Rathcroghan mound, re-enactments, talks and performances.

As part of the build up to the Táin festivities, workshops will be available to primary schools in the county to bring the story of the Táin to life. these will be delivered by expert Chris Thompson.

Overall the aim is to keep our county's myths, legends, heritage and history alive and engage children and the youth in the story.
