Teen Gelli Printing & Creative Surface Design
Galway-based artist Joyce Little will host Gelli Printing workshops to mark the National Famine Commemoration at the Irish Workhouse Centre.
This hands‑on creative workshop introduces teenagers to Gelli plate mono printing, a fun and accessible printing technique that encourages experimentation and artistic play. Participants will explore mark‑making using natural materials foraged from Portumna Workhouse grounds. Materials could include leaves, grasses, seed pods, and flowers, as well as found textures like lace, textile offcuts, and everyday patterned objects. The workshop gives young people the chance to develop artistic confidence and learn printmaking techniques in a supportive environment.
This project will take place on Monday the 25th of May and will last for 2 hours.
