Temple Bar By Group 91: 30 Years of the Story of Design by UCD Architecture Students 2021

This 'shop window' temporary exhibition will run from July 2021 through to end September 2021, on Curved Street, Temple Bar and tells the story of the group of young visionary architects (Group 91), who won the competition, sponsored by then Taoiseach Charles Haughey, to reinvent the historic area of Temple Bar through the reuse the historic urban fabric and through new architecture and public spaces.

They made two new squares, a new street, new housing and several new cultural buildings. The exhibition is made up of beautifully designed panels full of old and new photographs, drawings and concise design history, and architectural models on loan from the Irish Architectural Archive and elsewhere. This exhibition, which celebrates the original 1991 reimagining of Temple Bar as a European cultural quarter, was designed and made by the 4th Year M.Arch students of UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy.
