The Big Bee Bop
The Big Bee Bop is a multi-disciplinary project of co-creating with dance, educational presentation, sound design and craft making workshops. The locale of Burncourt is a designated conservation area for the Native Irish Honey Bee and the location of Galtee Honey run by internationally renowned Bee Keepers Michaél Mac Giolla Coda & Aoife Nic Giolla Coda. This project is comprised of four strands of events:
The Bop strand, a local choreographer will host six Bee Bop workshops where the physical movement of the bees is explored through dance. These workshops will culminate in a presentation of the dance (set to music) at the launch of The Big Bee installation on the 29th September. Six dance workshops will take place in Burncourt Communty Hall starting on Wednesday, July 17th at 8pm continuing each Wednesday until the 21st August. These workshops are open to children and adults, places are limited.
