The Cash Shop idea is to create a small contemporary gallery which in Gort which would host a series of workshops, information meetings on the art of creative sign painting in the centre of Gort. Skilled sign painting craftspeople – local, national, and international – will be brought in to share styles, approaches, methods, and ideas with the community in town. This will take place through training workshops, outreach meetings  and the painting of multiple ‘decommissioned’ shop fronts with an artistic solution such as old well-built historic shopfronts that exist architecturally but not as shops anymore.

This process will be rooted in traditional hand painted lettering arts, but provide a fun, non-utilitarian solution in collaboration with business owners. Artists Jim Ricks, Japhy Witte, a renowned sign painter from the Pacific Northwest and other professional sign writers will be invited to take part.
