Theatre Royal’s Artist in Residence Nick Kavanagh will deliver an exciting project that offers a space for participants to re-invent a different future in the face of climate change. 

Nick and the team at Curious State will present a series of workshops with 4 invited city-based primary schools from 28th August. The facilitators will support and encourage the young participants to co-create a drama through imagination, improvisation, role-play and discussion. The workshops will be themed around climate change, and the role that theatre and the arts can play in addressing the challenges faced by our society.

The outcome of the workshops will be a one-day Festival of Five-Minute Plays at Theatre Royal on 19th October 2023, which will be presented and performed by the curious state actors and musicians and supported by the Theatre Royal team.  The participants, teachers and peers will be invited to attend the presentation of new plays.
