The Colourful Heritage of County Cork Volume 2

Over the last number of years Cork County Council has been producing an annual heritage publication, from bridges to houses and churches to castles. What is evident in these pages are the many wonderful heritage sites present; not to mention the legendary characters that are synonymous with the Rebel County of Cork. To this effect, in 2019, and supported by the Heritage Council and the Creative Ireland Programme, Volume One in the Colourful Heritage of County Cork Series as undertaken – a publication featuring 30 sites for people to colour in, from Spike Island and Skibbereen Heritage Centre, to Mallow Castle House and the Youghal Clock Gate Tower.

In 2020, again with  the support of the Heritage Council and the Creative Ireland Programme, Volume Two is being undertaken, to capture even further, the essence of the County’s Heritage and Culture, with the intention of captivating minds young and old; by combining culture and heritage with colour and creativity. The majority of sites to be included are open to the public, and in keeping with Volume 1, information on each selected site will be provided in both English and Irish.

Cork County Council is presently seeking recommendations from the public for sites to be included and indeed any drawings which budding artists would like to submit for inclusion. Submissions are welcome up to 29/05/20 and for this and more information email creativeireland@corkcoco.ie. The finished publication will be available from November 2020.
