Our vision moving forward for 2023 includes participating and creating a public event to be held in Castlefreke woods on June 10th in association with Cruinniú na nÓg. This will be an intergenerational public event which will be hosted by The Company of Trees and will be an open invitation to a limited number of families (ten families) to join us and include where possible an intergenerational element to their family group this could be a grandparent or elderly neighbour. The event will commence at 11am with a forest bathing session , followed by a drawing and painting tutorial with Pauline Walsh (artist in residence)11.30-12.30, a live music performance at 12.30-1.00 p.m. with musicians Jim Murray , Caitlin McGinn and Fiona Kelleher on guitar, cello and vocals respectively. There will be a pop up art exhibition in the woods and families will be invited to bring a packed lunch and view the exhibition. Ongoing and upcoming projects in the lead up and in conjunction with this event will include six art sessions with Pauline Walsh and our intergenerational group in our school/studio workspace with a view to having a pop up exhibition in Castlefreke woods on June 10th. both on location in Kilmeen and Castlefreke woods, with a particular emphases on creating large collaborative works and working on an outdoor wall mural in the school grounds.
