The Keepers of The Flame is an Oral Tradition Project based on the traditional Rambling Houses in Carlow which share songs, stories, music and folklore and passes on this oral tradition to  new generations.  Through the development of this multi layered project,  participants will work to record a video demonstrating what a Rambling House looks like to inform schools and communities.  Alongside the recording there will be a booklet to accompany same and give context, and act as a guide to hosting your own Rambling House event.

The project will also engage in a pilot with a primary and a secondary school in each Carlow Municipal District (6 in total) inviting them to create their own version of a rambling house recorded in video or for podcast to document the event.
