Kerry County Council, Creative Ireland and community groups including The Lighthouse at Valentia Island will partner on an artist led response to a lighthouse, in this case Valentia Island Lighthouse, that creates an experience for the public to enjoy.

A writer, musician and visual artist will collaborate to produce a special offering for audiences at the lighthouse during the month of August.

The objectives of the project include:

-To transform a specific area (Valentia and surrounding area) and create an inspiring offering for audiences to enjoy.

-To show creativity across artforms linked to place and landscape.

-To celebrate the nature of place and offer an artist perspective on what is there but might not be noticed. 

-To provide a high quality, innovative cultural offering that features the production of new work.

-To encourage wellness and curiosity by encouraging people to get out and explore their locality and engage with art.
