The Long and Short of It

Are you 65+? Are you living in Rathvilly, Hacketstown, Myshall or Graiguecullen?
We’d love you to join us for a new project called The Long and Short of It to devise, create and vocally act out four animated stories that draws on your personal stories and memories of joyfully coming together!

If you’d like to know more please contact Orlaith on 087-7405626 or orlaith@carlowartsfestival.com.

The Long and Short of It is a new community engagement project produced by Carlow Arts Festival (CAF). This creative project will engage the older community (65+) of three rural parishes, Rathvilly, Hacketstown, and Myshall and one suburban parish, Graiguecullen, across County Carlow. The Long and Short of It is part of Assembly, the new arts participation and community engagement strand of Carlow Arts Festival.

In each parish, older people from the local community will devise, create and vocally act out four animated stories that draws on the community’s personal stories and memories of joyfully coming together. CAF will work with local community collaborators and a team of artists, Darren Donoghue (Playwright), Janice de Bróithe (Drama Facilitator/Director) and Paul Bokslag (Visual Artist), to design and deliver this project.

The Long and Short of It is created in partnership with Carlow County Council/ Carlow Arts Office, Carlow Friendly Ageing Programme, Healthy Carlow and Carlow County Development Partnership and is supported by Creative Ireland and Carlow County Council.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
