Through this project Rusted Rail will sample the landscape and convert it into a “sonic postcard” of Inis Oirr while also weaving in local history and folk memories surrounding the wrecking of the MV Plassey as musical inspirations.

The artist is inspired by direct engagement with landscape, which he captures through field recordings that he uses as building blocks to create pieces of music. 

This project will preserve the history and the sounds of the MV Plassey for generations to come. 

The finished project will be presented as a sound piece accompanied by video footage at Áras  Éanna, Europe's most westerly Arts Centre, located on Inis Oirr. Date TBC
