The Rise Studio
The Rise Studio is a collaborative initiative between Louth Local Development and The Red Door, led by community arts facilitator Alison O’Grady. The project established a dedicated creative studio within The Red Door in Drogheda, providing individuals in recovery with ongoing, supported access to creative activity.
The studio offers a safe, welcoming space where participants can engage with art at their own pace, develop skills, build confidence and express themselves meaningfully. Service users played an active role in shaping and setting up the studio, fostering a strong sense of ownership, agency and belonging.
Creative work developed in the studio is shared through public exhibitions and installations, connecting participants with the wider community and helping to challenge stigma through creative expression.
The Rise Studio supports wellbeing and recovery through sustained creative practice and aligns with Creative Ireland priorities around Creative Communities, Creative Health & Wellbeing and sustainability through mindful and resource‑conscious making.
