The Spooks Parade
The streets of Drogheda come alive with ghoulish antics as the Spooks Parade 2026 launches the Lú Festival of Light this October!
A participative collaborative cross community arts project, with primary schools, with across Drogheda and East Meath.
The Spooks Parade is produced and co-ordinated by Droichead Arts Centre, with Artistic Direction by artist/musician Kieran Gallagher (Kada Ka Boom Arts).
There will be four primary schools, Drogheda Special Olympics and Droichead Youth Theatre participating, working with the artistic team of Breda Marron (sculptor), Yvonne Dowd Gardiner (Visual Artist), Darrin Finnegan (Graffiti Artist), Vivienne Byrne (Mixed Media Artist) and choreographer Tracy Martin (Kidkast).
Additional singers and musicians will participate, as will members of Droichead Youth Theatre, and another 200 children will join the back of the parade on the day with their families, with over 1500 people lining up across the town to view the parade.
