The Stone Sessions
The Stone Sessions is an autumn/winter programme of heritage crafts, music and storytelling, celebrating Wexford's rich cultural heritage through hands-on, creative experiences in some of the county's most treasured heritage sites. The programme invites people of all ages to reconnect with their roots by stepping away from screens and engaging their hands, voices and imaginations through making, music and shared experiences.
Bringing together a diverse range of artists, makers, musicians and storytellers, The Stone Sessions offers workshops, demonstrations and participatory activities inspired by Wexford's heritage. Participants can experience traditional knitting, willow weaving, stone carving, woodturning, natural dyeing, mask making, storytelling, harp and traditional music, repair skills and creative family workshops, with opportunities to learn directly from skilled practitioners in welcoming and accessible settings.
Hosted across venues including The Makers House, Hook Lighthouse, Johnstown Castle, Wexford Lavender Farm and Enniscorthy Castle, the programme strengthens connections between people, place and heritage.
By celebrating traditional skills, creativity and shared cultural experiences, The Stone Sessions ensures that Wexford's living heritage continues to inspire, connect and be passed on to future generations.
