A participatory dance project, This Place is a collaboration between Galway Dance Project, professional dance artists Bernadette Divilly and Patricia Glynn and older members of the community in Ballinasloe and Clarinbridge. The creative process will encourage participants’ to explore links to their home, their communities and the places to which they feel connected. 

They will be encouraged to respond to their physical and metaphorical surroundings through contemporary movement, mindfulness, somatic practice and dance, engendering a sense of health and wellbeing, fostering creativity and connection to community and place. Public spaces and site-specific locations will also be explored and interrogated as performative spaces throughout the collaborative process.
