Threading the Tower - reimagining the Clondalkin Round Tower' is an exciting opportunity to reimagine the iconic structure that is the Clondalkin Round Tower. Building on the cultural heritage of Clondalkin where Irish Crochet Lace and other lace styles were practiced widely in the past, 'Threading the Tower' aims to bring together and support a new community grouping of crochet practitioners to construct a representative model of the Tower in fine lace threads. The experience will strengthen and build further creative capacity in the community for the traditional techniques of Irish Crochet Lace, re-establishing the position of this uniquely Irish craft and helping to revitalise its use in a new modern context.
