Working in conjunction with Business in the Community Ireland, 12 volunteers from Mayo County Council will take part in Time To Read, a scheme, whereby employees of the council will spend an hour a week in a local school listening to second class pupils while they read. The children are chosen because they may not have a strong interest in reading, or they may be shy, or in some cases, just because they will benefit from having an adult’s undivided attention on a regular basis.
