Tradoodle Festival

Ceol Connected will once again partner with Monaghan County Council & local partners to present a reimagined county-wide traditional arts festival for young audiences. In light of anticipated continuing restrictions on schools, venues, and community centres, the festival will present a blended artistic programme of online performances and workshops, ‘call to action’ activities for children, a multisensory initiative for children with complex needs, an outdoor musical trail, CPD for childcare professionals, and other artistic supports. These performance & collaborations are innovative, draw on best practice, & importantly, will connect with, respect, and are of relevance to the experience of children & young people.

The Festival has always been about community engagement and about providing opportunities for children and young people to access the traditional arts in innovative, interesting, & meaningful ways. An ambitious programme is being developed for 2020 which will enhance traditional arts in the county through a diverse & high quality programme for school/family audiences incorporating music, song, dance, puppetry & storytelling.

The proposed elements include: Treehouse LIVE & Sessions @ Tradoodle TV; LEAF - a multisensory musical gift pack for children with complex needs; Sí Beag Sí Mór Artist Residency; Online Feet to the Beat sean-nós dancing workshops; Whistle in the Wind outdoor musical trail with the National Concert Hall.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
