TWO-BED TERRACE WITH ORIGINAL FEATURES

This project is a 10-minute live-action short film based on a script  written by Mayo filmmaker Cathriona Slammon, titled TWO-BED TERRACE WITH ORIGINAL FEATURES. It is a female-driven story about mental illness and grief.

"When a single mother faces eviction, she risks a loss far greater than the precious memories her home contains."

The script has gained recognition in prestigious film festivals around the world including:

WINNER – BEST SCREENPLAY – Kerry International Film Festival 2019 FINALIST – BEST SCREENPLAY – Waterford Film Festival 2019 SEMI-FINALIST – BEST SHORT SCREENPLAY - Big Apple Screenplay Competition 2019 SEMI-FINALIST – BEST SCREENPLAY - Manhattan Short Film Competition 2019 QUARTER-FINALIST – BEST SHORT SCREENPLAY – Raindance Intnl Film Festival 2021 QUARTER-FINALIST – BEST SHORT SCREENPLAY – WeScreenplay Awards 2021

It has been much praised for its depiction of mental illness, the emotional impact of the story, and the originality of the script overall.

The writer and director Catriona Slammon has previously written and directed two short films without access to professional equipment or crew, and with zero budget. Despite this, both of these films have gone on to be screened internationally, and both have won awards including BEST FIRST-TIME DIRECTOR at the Tokyo International Film Festival 2021, and BEST IRISH DOCUMENTARY at Story? International Documentary Festival 2021.

As this is still in pre-production, further updates to follow.
