Restoration of blacksmith forge showing internal wall stone with carving; 'BMK 1890'. The forge was purchased by local owners with a keen interest and memory of its use as a forge. They are bringing back various internal fittings to provide a more authentic property. Works include roof repairs and replacement of existing corrugated roof with natural slate. Minor repairs only to be carried out to the roof.

Referring to Department Advice Series: Roofs. Existing or locally sourced stone shall be used. Pointing is to be carried out with a compatible lime based mortar to match existing. Site photographs will be taken at key stages during the proposed works.
