Curated by poet and editor Martin Dyar and guided by the poetry anthology Vital Signs, this tour will bring poets and musicians to staff and clients in care homes, community hospitals and day care centres across the country. 

Vital Signs Tour Monaghan 

This special tour with Poetry Ireland will take place on Monday 21st August, with visits to Castleross Care home and St. Anne’s Care home (closed sessions), followed by public performance at 4.30pm at Rossmore Park, Monaghan town.

We are delighted to welcome Monaghan poet and novelist Mary O’Donnell, whose work is often cited as key in expanding the horizons of Ireland’s traditionally male-dominated literary world. Her work for Vital Signs will be heard in her home county on this tour with music and song from long time collaborators Stephen Doherty and David Doocey, multi-instrumentalists, and composers.

These exciting gigs will be followed up by workshops in September, where poets will prescribe poems to help and support care and health workers or those interested in poetry.
