The Weaving in the Liberties project will run a ten-week course on Tuesday mornings commencing in September 2019. Places on the course have been allocated to participants who attended four successful taster Weaving workshops held in May/June of this year in various venues around the Liberties with a view to reviving this beautiful local craft. 

The course will be a mix of lectures and study visits to deepen knowledge of the history and fashions of this period. Participants will also learn how to weave ribbons in silk and linen. Together we will develop a range of 'Liberties Need Nots', luxury gift items which reflect the rich heritage of the Liberties area and our own creativity, which will be exhibited before Christmas.
