Well, Girl is a community-led storytelling and filmmaking project that explores identity, migration, and belonging through the lived experiences of long-settled migrant women in Waterford.

Led by filmmaker Flavia Prodominsky, the project focuses on women who have lived in the county for over ten years and who actively contribute to community life, yet whose stories often remain unseen.

Over a ten-week programme, 20 women aged 30+ will take part in a series of workshops combining storytelling, oral history, and filmmaking. Participants will explore their personal journeys, reflecting on where they come from, why they chose Waterford as home, and how their cultural heritage continues to shape their identity and daily lives.

The project creates a safe and supportive space where women can share experiences, connect with others, and develop the skills to document and express their own stories.

Well, Girl aims to recognise underrepresented voices and contribute to a more inclusive and evolving understanding of Waterford’s cultural identity.
