Who Puts the ‘bee’ in Labasheeda

The project "Who puts the 'bee' in Labasheeda" is an initiative of the Labasheeda ICA guild as part of National Heritage Week with the support of the Creative Ireland Programme.

The project consists of an exhibition of garden sculptures and pollinators on the theme of traditional Irish music with the aim of promoting biodiversity, natural heritage and the use of community spaces for celebrating art and wildlife together. The exhibition showcases pollinators, bird feeders, and bee and bug hotels that were made by the Labasheeda Irish Countrywoman's Association. The garden is also the venue for a series of musical performances by children from the local national school as part of the Dan Furey Set Dancing Weekend.

The exhibition promotes and encourages the management of gardens and community spaces not only for wildlife and flowers but to include creative interactive spaces for artwork and decorations.
