Who's Watching is a site- responsive, multi- site project developed over a year, with ongoing engagement with various communities that will create a semi- theatrical/ installation based narrative around fear, ownership and control of public spaces. This project will include and reflect the heightening of these instincts in the age of social media, where anger and sometimes misplaced certainty is favoured in the public discourse.
This project will culminate in a multi- site/ multidisciplinary response made by Dumbworld, which will be shown as part of the 50th Edition of Kilkenny Arts Festival in August 2023.
Over the course of November/ December 2022 and Spring 2023, there will be a period of research and local interviews. The aim of this process is to enable and empower a diverse cohort of people in Kilkenny to express themselves creatively, to have their creativity valued and supported through key professional practitioners, for their work to form the genesis of a major project as part of one of Ireland's most beloved multi- disciplinary festivals and for all citizens in Kilkenny to see their creative work in this context.
