Wild Atlantic Words is a festival that will celebrate the literary heritage of Mayo's rugged coastline over a weekend of readings, recitals, debates and reflection, while also acknowledging our new and emerging writers. Highlights of this year's "off the shoulder" festival will include readings by EM Reapy, Colm Keane and Una O Hagan, an audio visual documentry with Ian Maleney, a survey of children's reading habits in Castlebar, a major book club event, Kevin McStay on managemnt, Diarmuid Feriter and Dominic Price on the War of Independence and of course the ever-popular "Poem and a Pint". The festival will finish with a series of  local history talks entitled Sunday Morning Coming Down.
