The 2020 Wings residency will support two artist residencies at Roscommon Arts Centre.

The first: Fregoli Theatre Company's 2020 residency at the centre. The residency is part of Roscommon Arts Centre’s ongoing commitment to supporting professional artists at all stages of their careers. The company, though Galway based, have a strong Roscommon connection – its artistic director Maria Tivnan and Jarlath Tivnan, writer and performer, are both from Boyle and their rural upbringing and Roscommon itself has had a very significant impact on the company’s theatre making.

Exploring themes of “finding home”; the residency will incorporate three major elements: training and development; provision of community workshops and idea exchange, with the final phase focusing on a short work in progress style performance. 

An Open Call for the second residency will take place in the Spring for the latter half of 2020.

Both residencies will seek to fortify the statement from the Culture and Creativity Strategy that "The Roscommon Arts Centre in addition to extensive professional performing arts programming is also the centre of a curated visual arts programme which has been on a par with international best practice in the visual arts, attracting interest locally, nationally and internationally."
