County Longford Literary Month is where the month of May (1-31st) is dedicated to the celebration of Longford's writers, Past and Present. Three key literary festivals are taking place during this month - The Maria Edgeworth Literary Festival (May 9-12th), Padraic Colum Gathering (May 17-18th) and The Goldsmith International Literary Festival (May 31st-June 2nd),

Coupled with these events are a series of talks and workshops held throughout the month.

Margaret Nohilly, poet, did creative writing workshops with primary school children in Lanesborough, 14 and 22 May.

Rose Moran, poet, did a workshop with 5th class pupils in St Matthew's NS, Ballymahon.

John Connell, writer, did a workshop for second-level students.
