Creative Ireland Kerry is supporting the development of active creative engagement with citizens through the Social Prescribing services in Ballyheigue/Kerryhead Family Resource Centre. Several workshops and events are being rolled out from October through to December with a holistic approach focusing on Arts, Health & Wellbeing to bring the community together.
Participants will be given the opportunity to creative their own seasonal decorative wreath under the guidance of Maura from Maura’s cottage flowers. All materials will be provided on the day as well as a cuppa and a chance to have a chat. The session will be 2 hours long. Ballyheigue Monday 20th of November 10am -12pm and Castleisland Monday 13th November 10 am-12pm.
Ceramics workshop gives participants a chance to create their own hand crafted pots and decorative tiles under the guidance of Edel Wilson. Monday 9th of October 9.30 -1pm
Drumming workshop gives participants the opportunity to explore sounds and be creative with sound under the guidance of Martin Scharer from the percussion workshop. Monday 9th of October 2pm-3pm
Dance for wellbeing session as part of our Kerry Mental Health Festival celebrations, the Academy of Dance Tralee will host a free Dance class for health and wellbeing. Tuesday 10th October 11.15am-12.15pm
