Young Print Collective

The Young Print Collective will serve young refugee, asylum seeking and migrant people who have previously participated in Cork Printmaker youth programmes and who have demonstrated exceptional artistic talent, providing 8 places on a mentorship and training programme at Cork Printmakers. Modelled on the existing Graduate Bursary Award programme, the participants will become full members of Cork Printmakers, gaining access to studios, classes and facilities. The programme will unfold over three years.

2021 will be the first year in which participants are being inducted into the printmaking studios as members, with training provided in the area of studio operations: health and safety in the studios; safe operating procedures; equipment induction. Participants will be offered advanced training workshops in different areas of print including: relief print, linotype and letterpress; screenprint; plate lithography; plus our newly developing area of non-toxic printmaking techniques, saline sulphite etching.

Throughout year one, each participant will be offered mentorship from Cork Printmakers staff and artist members.
