Youth Arts Now is a recently formed network in the south east, of arts officers and Creative Ireland co-ordinators from the local authority areas of Waterford, Kilkenny, Wexford and Carlow, working together with Waterford Youth Arts. The ambition is to further policy development and advocacy for youth arts practice in Ireland.

The network will engage a researcher from September 2020 until year end, to examine the current provision and resourcing of youth arts in Ireland. The recruitment and support for this researcher will be managed by Waterford Youth Arts. During this period, the network will also look to create opportunities for participatory evaluation with young people and for regional showcase/sharing opportunities of youth arts practice.

The network will host further meetings of the recently established Youth Arts Network, the first meeting of which was held in June 2020, convened and chaired by Waterford Youth Arts.

A second meeting with be held on 29th September 2020 to review existing national research and another meeting at the end of November, where the appointed researcher will present preliminary findings.
