West Clare Film Club present an interactive series of workshops and discussions for teens in rural Clare.

The purpose of these workshops is to engage young members of an an Irish rural area, namely West Clare, on the national topics and issues of the present times in Ireland. Through this engagement The West Clare Film Club will progress its understanding of the challenges facing society, especially among young people in the new and developing Irish culture.

Teenagers will receive several weeks of learning and tutoring on the creative process of writing, production and execution of making films. They will discuss the use of language, music, framing, lighting and sound in a film piece. The group will learn to discuss and critique films. The group will learn about documentary making, filming interviews and talent shows. The participants will also partake in script writing, creation of a movie treatment and creation of their own short film.
