Creative Connections Autumn Programme – Supporting Parent Wellbeing Through Connection, Creativity and Community
Creative Connections is a parent wellbeing initiative developed by St. Michael’s House Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services – Intellectual Disability (CAMHS-ID) in partnership with Fingal Libraries and Creative Fingal.
The project is created in recognition of the unique challenges faced by parents and carers supporting children and young people with intellectual disability and complex mental health needs. While much attention is rightly focused on supporting the child, the wellbeing of parents and carers is equally important.
Through creativity, gentle psychoeducation, reflection and peer connection, Creative Connections provides a welcoming space where parents can pause, share experiences and connect with others who understand the realities of their journey.
The project highlights the value of community partnerships in supporting wellbeing, reducing isolation and creating opportunities for parents to learn, reflect and build supportive networks.
The Creative Connections Autumn Programme will take place in Malahide Library starting Monday 7 September until Monday 7 November 2026.
