The Leaves Festival of Writing and Music is an annual four-day autumn festival held in County Laois that celebrates Irish literature, culture, music, and storytelling. Taking place each year in early November across a range of venues, including the Dunamaise Arts Centre in Portlaoise, the festival is organised through a collaboration between Laois County Council Arts Office and Laois County Library Service. 

Over the course of the festival, audiences can enjoy a rich and diverse programme of author readings, literary discussions, panel events, poetry, memoir and fiction showcases, alongside spoken word performances and unique cultural presentations. The festival regularly brings together established and emerging writers, local and national voices, and creative practitioners for engaging conversations and performances. 

Complementing its literary focus, Leaves also features live music, cultural film screenings, and special events, including innovative adaptations of RTÉ short story productions, creating a vibrant celebration of the arts that attracts readers, writers, musicians, and cultural enthusiasts from across Ireland.
