25 Years of Terryland Forest Park: Looking Back and Moving Forward
Terryland Forest Park marks 25 years as Galway’s “People’s Park,” a thriving urban forest built through community collaboration. To honour this milestone, Tuatha of Terryland Forest Park, alongside Artist-in-Residence Helen Caird, dance artist Roberta Ceginskaite, and sculptor Dani Gill, present a creative celebration reflecting on the park’s past and future.
🔹 Visual Art Workshops – Local school-children will create park-inspired artworks, continuing a project first undertaken in 2000. Their work will be exhibited in the park.
🔹 Creative Movement Sessions – Monthly dance and movement workshops with Roberta will connect participants to the park’s natural beauty.
🔹 Sculpture from Nature – Dani will demonstrate wood-sculpting, crafting art from a storm-felled oak tree.
🔹 Documenting 25 Years – A short documentary and publication combining archival and new footage will commemorate the park’s evolution.
Videos will be shared online, and the publication will be available to the public and local libraries, ensuring Terryland’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.
