A Circus of Selves
A Circus of Selves is an inclusive creative circus and drama project delivered by Enable Ireland Adult Services in partnership with Circus Factory Cork, supporting adults with disabilities in Cork City to explore identity, wellbeing and self-expression through circus, clowning and drama.
Over a series of accessible, participant-led workshops, individuals will engage in playful, low-pressure creative activities that encourage storytelling, movement and imagination. Designed to support people with diverse abilities and support needs, the project prioritises inclusion and meaningful participation, enabling each person to express themselves in their own way.
Participants will build confidence, strengthen social connections, and develop creative skills while exploring personal and collective stories. Alongside the workshops, a parallel group will document the process through photography and film, capturing the journey of the project.
The project will culminate in a Culture Night exhibition, offering a welcoming, interactive experience that shares participants’ creative work with the wider community. This celebratory event will highlight the voices and experiences of participants, fostering greater visibility and understanding of disability as a creative and cultural contribution.
Through collaboration, creativity and community engagement, A Circus of Selves aims to support wellbeing, empower participants, and strengthen connections across Cork City.
